Where to travel after Covid and how to get there safely! By Play Travel

Feeling desperate for a break but not sure where to go or when to book? With international travel off-limits until at least September 17 and state border restrictions constantly changing it’s a confusing time for many travellers but it’s also a great time to get to know Australia and your own home state!

So where can you go?

Queensland recently opened its borders to all holiday makers with the exception of Victorians, who are in lockdown for the next 5 weeks. NSW is also welcoming holiday makers from all states except Victoria.  At the moment South Australia is open to travel for WA, ACT, NT and QLD residents, however you will need to apply for pre-approval. Domestic flights are still operating to most destinations and of course there’s always the option of a good old-fashioned road trip. If you’re holiday involves flights it’s a good idea to check schedules before you choose a date.

So, whether you’re keen to stay local and explore your own state or you’d rather plan ahead for when restrictions ease, here’s some advice and options for relaxing family holidays, glamping, road-trips and cosy couple stays, all with your health and safety in mind.

Beachside Holiday Apartments are an ideal way to avoid crowds, communal spaces and restaurants. If you’re not ready to check into a hotel yet it’s the perfect solution. Not only will you enjoy privacy, but also daily cleaning services so you’ll still feel like you’ve had a holiday! Check out The Headlands Hotel in Austinmer, and the beach front apartments in Bargara.

Glamping under the stars in fresh open spaces with clean air, after weeks of lockdown this is just what the doctor ordered! Camp with your loved ones and friends, practise healthy social distancing and soak up Australia’s great outdoors. Arrive to a ready-made tent and enjoy resort style service with linens and camping essentials all provided. If you’re in South Australia the Ikara Glamping & Safari Adventure is a favourite and  NSW for Glenworth Valley, just an hour north of Sydney!

Self-catering Cottages There’s no better time to discover this incredible country of ours. Picture your own private cottage overlooking one of South Australia’s premier wine regions, the Barossa Valley. With fresh provisions delivered to your door, private wine tours and onsite food experiences you will feel safe and pampered at the same time! Indulge in a Barossa Valley food and wine package or an outback experience at Rawnsley Park Station.

Planning ahead with our flexible booking policy means smaller weekly instalments, so take advantage and book a bucket-list adventure holiday or a simple road-trip. Australia’s local tourist towns are keen to welcome back tourists and are offering some fantastic deals. Let’s help them get back on their feet! Try a road trip to the Gold Coast and tick off the theme parks or spend a weekend exploring The Hunter Valley!
