If you’re anything like us, your car is definitely well overdue for a day at the spa. Luckily, we’ve teamed up with Supercheap Auto to bring you the best tips and tricks on how you can DIY it up and get your car looking and feeling 100%.
The Glow Up
We all love a good DIY glow-up, so why shouldn’t we be giving that same love to our car? And while it seems like a straight-forward task, there are some definite do’s and don’ts when it comes to washing your car.
So what are our top tips for the perfect DIY car wash?
- Don’t use dishwashing liquid – a sure fire way to ruin your car’s paint job over time!
- Don’t scrub too hard and use a proper cloth… Because no one likes a scratched car, especially when you could have avoided it entirely!
Think about your car’s exterior like you would your own – only use appropriate and products specific to the job at hand!
It’s What’s Under The Hood That Counts
Next up we’re taking on everything under the bonnet… and trust us – it’s not as scary as it looks! And luckily we’ve created a fail proof checklist of the most important things to check on a regular basis.
But first – safety check! Make sure the car is parked on level ground & the handbrake is on before you get under the hood. Also, make sure the car has been off for at least half an hour before you start so it’s not too hot.
Now for our internal inspection. The below are things you need to be checking regularly to keep your car healthy –
- Brake Fluid
- Power Steering
We love a good old DIY but we’re also realists, so If this seems like too much the Supercheap team offer free vehicle health checks in-store for those who need it.
Marie Kondo your car
As much as we love looking good on the outside and receiving a clean health check, a day at the spa is equally about getting that internal zen. Time to make like Marie Kondo and clean out those old coffee cups and order those compartments. To help, Supercheap has everything from car rubbish bins to boot organisers, phone holders, pet travel and accessories to make this job less stressful than clearing out your wardrobe. Speaking of… if your car acts as your second closet, Supercheap has got you covered to give your car wardrobe some much-needed organisational TLC.
